Description
The benefits of barley in an easy-to-apply pellet.
UltraClear Barley Pellets support clearer pond water with slow-release barley fortified with humic acid. The sinking pellets offer a convenient alternative to loose barley straw bales and can be scattered directly or placed in a media bag.
Simple support for pond clarity
- Slow-release action: pellets gradually release beneficial compounds to support water clarity.
- Humic acid fortified: helps support water quality and nutrient balance.
- Flexible placement: broadcast over the treatment area or contain pellets in a media bag near moving water.
- For living ponds: safe for fish, plants and pond wildlife when used as directed.
- Made in the USA: backed by more than 30 years of UltraClear pond-care experience.
How to apply
- Measure the recommended amount for your pond: 1 lb per 1,000 gallons, or 120 lb per surface acre for area-based treatment, following the package directions.
- Sprinkle pellets onto the pond surface or put them in a media bag, sold separately.
- Place where water is moving, ideally in water under 3 feet deep. Follow the label for repeat applications.

Use the dosing method appropriate to your pond; surface acreage is not a direct conversion from gallons. For help choosing a rate, contact UltraClear.
Choose a size
Available in a 1 lb box, 5 lb box or 40 lb bag. At 1 lb per 1,000 gallons, these provide one application for 1,000, 5,000 or 40,000 gallons respectively. Repeat treatments require additional product.
Common questions
Can pellets temporarily cloud the water?
Yes. Temporary cloudiness can occur after application and should clear within a few days.
Do I need a media bag?
No. You can sprinkle pellets directly on the pond surface. A separately purchased media bag is an option for keeping them together near moving water.
Are pellets an instant clarifier?
They release gradually to support ongoing clarity. Allow time for the treatment to work and follow your package's maintenance directions.
