ABI was incorporated on January 1st, 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio as Automatic Bacterial Injection, Inc. ABI was initially formed as a company providing biological products exclusively for the wastewater industry utilizing a gel based technology for encapsulating bacteria. Through applied research and application, the line evolved to liquid and dry bacteria based products.

Within a few years of incorporation, a U.S. trademark was awarded for the UltraClear mark. The brand expanded from a wastewater system solutions to the current popular UltraClear brand carried by thousands of retailers nationwide. Garden centers, pet stores, land scaping firms and hardware stores carry the UltraClear retail product line. Private & public golf courses, commercial aquaculture businesses and municipal wastewater treatment facilities use UltraClear Systems.

ABI is based in Richfield, Ohio and has executive offices, warehouses, operating facilities, system sales and technical support in the Cleveland metropolitan area. Retail sales and telemarketing operations are located in Cleveland and Florida.
